A New York City family is mourning the sudden death of 25-year-old Kevin Mares, who was killed while on vacation in Puerto Rico for a Bad Bunny concert. Mares, described by his father Hector Mares as a “deeply loved son” and “pillar of strength” by his family, was in Puerto Rico this past weekend celebrating with friends when he was “tragically caught in the crossfire of a shooting” and died instantly. $1M Powerball Ticket Sold In New Jersey
The New Jersey Lottery has made yet another millionaire. A $1 million Powerball ticket from the Monday, Aug. 11 Powerball drawing was sold in the Garden State. The ticket was sold at Minit Mart on the 300 block of Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights, lottery officials confirmed. A $50,000 ticket was sold at BK One Stop Shop, a convenience store on East 9th Avenue in Roselle. The winning numbers were 6, 16, 33, 40, 62 and the red Powerball 2. The driver killed in a fiery crash involving multiple vehicles on the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County has been identified by his family as a father of four. NJ Transit officials have released the identity of the woman struck and killed by a train in Hackensack last week. Luz E. Lopez, 79, a city resident, was struck and killed by a train Thursday morning, Aug. 7 in Hackensack, NJ Transit said. Records show Lopez lived on Union Street, just one block from the crash scene.
