Parkway Closure Planned On Long Island A new overnight closure has been announced for a parkway on Long Island. On Thursday, May 23, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., both directions of the Loop Parkway in Hempstead will be closed, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The closures are weather permitting and will facilitate the steel deck replacement project on the Long Creek drawbridge. Alleged CVS Thief Nabbed Following Long Island Crash A Long Island man has been arrested after police said he stole cash from a CVS, fled from a traffic stop, and eventually crashed into an overpass. The Glen Cove incident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21. 39-Year-Old Hits State Police Cruiser, Flips On I-84 In Middlebury, Causing Injuries A Connecticut man allegedly crashed into a state police cruiser during a traffic stop on I-84, causing injuries. It happened on Monday, May 20 in West Hempstead.
